Nankatsu Selection Team and Meiwa Elementary School played the final of the Elementary School National Tournament in Captain Tsubasa. The Nankatsu vs Meiwa match was an epic battle where both teams gave everything the had.

At the end of regular time, the score was 2-2, with both team captains (Kojiro Hyuga and Tsubasa Ozora) scoring a two goals. Tsubasa’s second goal was scroed during injury time. The match had to go into extra time (in two halves of five minutes each).

The first half of extra time was scoreless. However, in the second half Tsubasa scored two goals, one of them in a twin shot with his best friend Taro Misaki, earning the championship for his city and the region of Shizuoka.

Nankatsu vs Musashi was one of the semifinals of the Elementary School National Tournament in Captain Tsubasa.

Musashi’s captain Jun Misugi played beautifully and scored a hat-trick, but Nankatsu’s captain Tsubasa Ozora was even better and scored a poker (four goals), getting the victory for his team and advancing to the final against Meiwa.

The end of the match was crazy: Misugi scored the 4-3 for Musashi with just two minutes remaining, but Taro Misaki tied the game in the last minute. During loss time, Tsubasa scored the winning goal for his team.

Meiwa vs Furano was one of the semifinals of the Elementary School National Tournament in Captain Tsubasa.

Furano’s captain Hikaru Matsuyama played with a lot of hearth and scored two goals, but Meiwa’s captain Kojiro Hyuga was stronger and scored a hat-trick, including the winning goal in overtime, making his team advance to the final against Nankatsu. Ken Wakashimazu entered the field with just one minute remaining to stop a penalty kick shooted by Matsuyama when the score was 2-2.

Musashi vs Hitachi was one of the quarterfinal matches in the Elementary School National Championship in Captain Tsubasa.

Jun Misugi entered the field with only 15 minutes remaining and when Hitachi was winning 2-1. He managed to turn the tables and won the match for Musashi by a four goal lead.

Nankatsu vs Shinjou was one of the quarterfinal matches in the Elementary School National Championship in Captain Tsubasa. This match was not shown in the manga, we only know the final score.

Meiwa vs Kasai was one of the quarterfinal matches in the Elementary School National Championship in Captain Tsubasa. Meiwa won the match easily, and from the manga we know that captain Kojiro Hyuga scored at least one of the five goals.

Nankatsu vs Naniwa was the first playoff match for Nankatsu in the Elementary School National Championship of Captain Tsubasa.

Tetsuya Marui scored the first goal of the match for Naniwa in the 3rd minute thanks to a long pass from giant goalkeeper Taichi Nakanishi. However, late in the first half, Nankatsu turned the score around with goals from Tsubasa Ozora and Teppei Kisugi (minutes 15th and 18th).

The second half was dominated by Nankatsu, scoring three more goals by Mamoru Izawa (7th min), Taro Misaki (14th min) and Tsubasa (20th min). Therefore, Nankatsu advanced to the quarterfinals.

 

Meiwa vs Maebashi was one of the last 16 round matches of the Elementary School National Championship in Captain Tsubasa.

We only know from the manga that Kojiro Hyuga scored a hat-trick in the first half.
