Kojiro Hyuga scored the first goal of the match with a Raiju shot assisted by Shingo Aoi in the 2nd minute. Aoi scored three minutes later assisted by Tsubasa Ozora, putting the 2-0 for Japan. Uruguay made the score one goal closer when Ramon Victorino scored after a heading pass from Ryoma Hino in the 9th minute. Tsubasa scored from the center of the pitch with a Drive shot, after the kick-off taken by Aoi following Uruguay’s goal, to set the 3-1 in the scorebox. Hyuga scored again with a Raiju shot assisted by his Toho teammate Takeshi Sawada. But Hino scored two consecutive goals using variations of his Tornado shot in the 24th and 30th minutes, the second time assisted by Pazu.
At the beggining of the second half, Uruguay tied the game (4-4) with Victorino´s headed assisted by Hino. Later on, the defender Hiroshi Jito scored an own goal in the 78th minute giving the lead to Uruguay. Hyuga scored the tying goal during loss time, helped by Jito and assisted by Ken Wakashimazu, who had managed to stop Hino´s Tornado shot in the previous play.
