Nankatsu vs Azumaichi was one of the first round matches of the Middle School National Tournament.
Azumaichi’s captain Makoto Soda scored in the 5th minute assisted by Mitsuru Ide.
However, in the 50th minute Shingo Takasugi scored for Nankatsu assisted by Tsubasa. This was the only goal he has ever scored in the Captain Tsubasa series. In the 57th minute Tsubasa scored the winning goal.
