Recap
Nankatsu vs Shimada was one of the semifinals of the Regional Qualifiers of the prefacture of Shizuoka for for the Elementary School National Tournament in Captain Tsubasa.
Shimada Elementary School was a very defensive team that had won all previous matches by 1-0 (with the exception of a 2-0 victory and one game that ended 0-0 and was won in the penaly shootout). They managed to score in the first half, taking advantage of Genzo Wakabayashi not playing for Nankatsu. The goal was scored in the 7th minute by their captain Junichi Nagasaki.
In the 5th minute of the second half Shimada scored again. However, late in the game Nankatsu made a comeback, led by Tsubasa Ozora, who scored a hat-trick assisted by goalkeeper Yuzo Morisaki and midfielders Taro Misaki and Mamoru Izawa. The winning goal was scored during loss time, preventing the game from going into a penalty shootout.
