Recap
This friendly game was published for the 40th Anniversay of Captain Tsubasa, in the one shot called “Endless Dream”. It happened after the Elementary School National Tournament and is considered to be part of the canon of the series.
In order to cheer up a depressing Tsubasa (because of Roberto, Taro Misaki and Genzo Wakabayashi leaving Japan), Ryo Ishizaki and his other teammates organize a friendly match between the elementary schools of Nankatsu and Shutetsu. To make the game more exciting, guest star players from the national tournament such as Kojiro Hyuga, Jun Misugi or Hikaru Matsuyama will join either team for this game.
The first half ended in a scoreless draw. Five minutes into the second half, Misugi entered the pitch for Shutetsu, and ten minutes later the Tachibana brothers performed an acrobatic play to score off a high ball from him. After this goal, Ken Wakashimazu left the goal to Nakanishi (who just joined the game replacing Manabu) to play as a forward. Right before the end of the match, Tsubasa scored the equalizer with an overhead kick, after Wakabayashi deflected to the crossbar a shot from Hyuga.
